californiabased producer damon bell could not find a more suitable home for his new 12inch than croatian label burek. its his first one since blues for the libyan lp released in 2015. for deepblak, and it sounds as if the time off was well spent. two words that perfectly describe this record are rich and colourful, and the description is equally applicable to all three cuts. stand by me is a synthheavy piece built around the interplay between tracks rougher sounds and big lush pads. on the flipside, life is slightly faster and more direct, with a wonderful guitar part that circles around the main theme throughout the most of the track. similarly mannered, but slightly more intense transatlantic journey? we been here! is the last piece and features an infectious groove with lead synth piercing through layers of delicate arpeggios playing in the background. all in all, it feels good to have damon in the team. we hope youll enjoy this record

australian label nightime drama, run by peter fincher (aka vibrio) and shaun franklin (aka trebek) now serves up its second standout release of 2016. this four track affair comes hot on the heels of the last by yoshihiro arikawa, and is a second release on the label by aussie live act, dj and producer trinity, with steven tang and italian based andee on the remix. trinity has also released on ooc, coincidence and android muziq and regularly performs all round europe. his sound deep and cosmic, heady and hypnotic, as the fresh tracks here prove. cascade drive is seven minutes of direct and elastic house with spacey pads and driving drums carrying you through the cosmos. from the earthmothern label and one half of rk s, andee strips it back to a slick rubber kick drum then layers in a forceful acid line and icy hi hats to really get you under its spell. the longform groove is physical and cerebral in equal measure. the next original is expansion, and again finds trinity serving up a hi tech and soul infused deep techno sound that is lithe and liquid, smeared with great pads and truly timeless. emphasis boss steven tang is the perfect man to remix given his style, and his version flips the cut into a more heavyweight and banging techno effort, but one that is just as littered with sci fi sounds, spaceship trails and intergalactic energies.

for the first time in more than a year, because music is running a limited repress of selah sue‘s sold out ep alone. released in late 2014, it paved the way for her second album reason (more than 185.000 copies worldwide since its release in march 2015). shifting to a more pop-oriented sound under the supervision of producers robin hannibal (rhye, kendrick lamar) and ludwig goransson (childish gambino, haim), this ep features her flagship collaboration with american rapper childish gambino together and an exclusive acoustic version of the track wont go for more. a throwback to the exciting times when everybody was impatient to hear selahs new creations after her best-selling debut album.

kanja records is sincerely honored to present its first vinyl release, based on a concept called sunday mornings. with this series of releases we will focus on that warm up, early morning, after party gems and slowly fading away from peak time music. our philosophy behind this concept is that the focus goes to the tracks being timeless, and music that you can listen to in every time of day and night. music that offers a vast variety, but in the end coming together in that sweet and warm morning glory.

early september will see the release of paulo olartes el escandalo de tus ojos lp via barcelonas galaktika records. columbian producer paulo olarte has been a long time friend and affiliate of the galaktika imprint having been releasing with the label since its early years a decade ago amongst further output for the likes of liebe detail and diynamic. here we see him back on galaktika with his new long player, set for release in september via a special vinyl edition with a digital release to follow.

the lost in time imprint has been releasing bespoke vinyl for a couple of years now. it got off to a flying start with the moment from ralph lawson & chez damier and kept up the pace with a series of releases from ralph lawson alongside production partner tuccillo including nightcrawler. the track has now been picked up and remixed by denmark’s finest house music export from oscillat and delaphine records, s.a.m and one records subb-an. s.a.m is fast becoming one of the very best producers of house and dub techno with a string of highly sought after releases on delaphine that sell out quickly and attract heat on discogs. s.a.m manages to fuse classic craftsmanship with contemporary sounds and has created an epic and atmospheric 10 minute long re-shape for ‘nightcrawler’. subb-an needs little introduction as a producer with high integrity and impeccable taste. he’s graced the decks at panorama bar, fabric, detroit movement, womb tokyo, enter, dc10, d’edge and of course the legendary below parties. while hes always been busy in the studio with releases for spectral, crosstown rebels and 2020vision. subb-an strips down nightcrawler to its very bones drawing out the classic analogue kurzweil 2000 synth sound to great effect. another chapter in the lost in time series.
